Elon Musk announced that Twitter will be rebranded and renamed to “X”
Changes are already underway for Twitter, as the new “X” logo can already be seen all over the app. Through a series of tweets on Twitter yesterday, Musk officially announced the rebranding of the app to the name “X” as a branch off of a long-awaited idea. Musk created the idea for “X” many years ago with the goal of producing an “everything app” with a specific focus on payments. Though he did not do it sooner, the app idea was always a plan of his to implement one day as buying Twitter was always an “accelerant to X”. Following the logo, changes will continue to be made all throughout the platform as the rebranding commences.
Reddit has taken control of protesting subreddits by expelling previous moderators
Reddit is taking the next steps to end the API pricing protests by expelling one of the largest subreddits that still remains.. Since the protest started, Reddit has been threatening to take over communities that are not complying with the new policies in order to gain more control over the platform. Now that Reddit is establishing control, it is demonstrating an opposite approach to what Reddit is synonymous with and is causing a lot of users to switch to other platforms such as Discord.
Meta has shared tips on how to increase engagement on Threads
Since reports have come out about Threads user engagement decreasing, Meta has released tips on how to maximize engagement. Meta’s first piece of advice is to make an entrance by announcing that you have joined the app. Upon joining, they advise users to start posting and begin engaging with others by sparking conversation. This can be done in the form of open-ended questions or by creating a poll. Brands should also consider creating challenges and contests on Threads to boost their awareness. Users are still waiting on some of the updates and new features that Threads promises and Meta is hoping that these tips will be utilized in the meantime to boost overall engagement.
